Experimental Printmaking at the BBK Saxony-Anhalt

The portfolio project | The symposium | The workshop

From April 4 to 27, 2025, the exhibition Experimental Printmaking from Saxony-Anhalt opens up new perspectives on printmaking. Eight artists – Marion Münzberg, Gert Burkard Büttner, Julienne Jattiot, Sebastian Harwardt, Elena Kiseleva-Arendt, Rainer Rausch, Christina Simon and Grit Wolf – will present works that were created as part of the print symposium at Posa Monastery in September 2024.

The exhibition shows traditional printing techniques, surprising material experiments and the variety of artistic handwritings that were developed during the symposium on the occasion of the Year of Printmaking. The presentation is complemented by the portfolio project of the BBK Saxony-Anhalt, which further deepens the creative exchange of the scene. Here, 30 prints from the portfolio project initiated by the Federal BBK in 2024 as part of “Zeitgleich-Zeitzeichen” will be on display.

Initiated by the BBK Saxony-Anhalt and sponsored by the Art Foundation of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, the exhibition invites visitors to rediscover traditional printmaking and follow the traces of experimentation.
