The Barcelona Experimental Hub Open Call invites photographers and artists worldwide to submit their creative, alternative and experimental photography projects.
This open call offers a unique opportunity to explore the future of photography – without thematic restrictions – allowing for a wide range of innovative and unconventional work. Conditions of participation:
The competition is open to photographers of any nationality, origin and place of residence who work with analog or digital photography. The selection process focuses on originality, innovation, photographic quality and the variety of techniques used.
Prizes and awards:
Five outstanding artists are selected and awarded exceptional prizes:
A two-month solo exhibition at the Experimental Hub in Barcelona.
A ten-month training course in the Diploma in Experimental Photography at Ágora, worth €600.
A full pass for the Experimental Photo Festival 2025, including two 4-hour workshops, worth €230.
200 € in cash to support the production of the exhibition or participation in the event.
International promotion through email campaigns and the social media channels of the Experimental Photo Festival, Agora, the School of Experimentation and the Experimental Hub – with a reach of over 45,000 photography enthusiasts.
A panel of experts in experimental photography will judge the submitted works, including Pablo Giori, Arantxa Berganzo, Emiliano Covello and Astrid Jacomme. These experts bring extensive knowledge from both the artistic and academic fields and will ensure a fair and thorough assessment.
