“Cultural Landscapes” was supplemented in 2024 in the context of a competition on the subject of “Water”
. The image results are now being presented for the first time at the Museum für Photographie Braunschweig
as the start of a traveling exhibition.The number of entries for the photo competition organized by the Braunschweigische Landschaft on the occasion of the
theme year “Water” was large. More than 100 were received,
just under 50 of which made it to the final round with their submitted projects.
A jury of experts decided on the four finalists: Jette Held (Tanne/Harz), Oscar
Lebeck (Leipzig), Kai Löffelbein (Hanover) and Yana Wernicke (Hochheim am Main).At the vernissage on February 21, Jette Held was announced as the winner of the competition
and honored with the prize money of €5,000.The jury included Natalie Czech (Professor of Photography, Hochschule für Bildende Künste,
Braunschweig), Benjamin Füglister (artist and Director of the CAP Prize for Contemporary
African Photography), Barbara Hofmann-Johnson (Director of the Museum für Photographie
Braunschweig), Bernd Rodrian (Director of the Institut Heidersberger, Wolfsburg) and Stefanie Sembill
(Curator, Representation of the State of Lower Saxony to the Federal Government).
