Subject of the art competition:
The subject of the art competition is the design and execution of the art on the building for the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Freie Universität Berlin at the Takustraße 3 site in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district of Berlin.
Task of the art competition:
The task of the competition is to develop art on the building for the site that creates an identity-forming reference to the educational and research facility, its architecture and spatial context. It should encourage a reflective examination of science, experimentation and transformation and can also artistically address aspects of the world of chemistry.
The competition is looking for an independent work of art that is convincing in terms of artistic quality and expressiveness and is developed specifically for this competition task on the basis of individual artistic creation.
