Organized repression of the climate crisis. Actors and their construction kit&#8221; for a group exhibition in our exhibition spaces.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cognitive scientists have developed a toolkit called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.klimafakten.de\/kommunikation\/p-l-u-r-v-das-sind-die-haeufigsten-methoden-der-desinformation-neue-infografik-im\">PLURV<\/a> to help identify disinformation and propaganda in relation to the climate crisis: <strong>Pseudo-experts<\/strong>, <strong>logical errors<\/strong>, <strong>unfulfillable<\/strong>expectations, <strong>cherry-picking<\/strong>and <strong>conspiracy myths<\/strong>are all identifying features.\nLet&#8217;s expose PLURV! <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One actor that promotes the suppression of the climate crisis is, for example, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/wissenschaft\/mensch\/wie-einzelne-versuchen-die-klimakrise-kleinzureden-und-wieso-manche-ihnen-glauben-a-35759cf5-6a49-44ed-9f66-2e59fecdf753\">Springer press<\/a>.\nIts publishing house is largely owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/wissenschaft\/mensch\/klima-verzoegerungstaktik-was-springer-schaeffler-spahn-und-wagenknecht-gemeinsam-haben-a-3389f444-c450-49fb-8b15-323de27cfb1f\">fossil fuel investors<\/a>.\nThe AFD and so-called &#8220;lateral thinkers&#8221; are also helping to suppress the issue. Narratives can be &#8220;It&#8217;s always been hot in summer&#8221;, &#8220;That&#8217;s a good thing!&#8221;, &#8220;Yes, just the weather&#8221;, &#8220;Fear-mongering and scaremongering&#8221;, &#8220;Whoever believes it will be blessed&#8221;, &#8220;Belief in man-made climate change is a substitute for religion?&#8221;.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Germany, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/thema\/cdu\/\">CDU<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/thema\/fdp\/\">FDP<\/a> parties are conducting a textbook delaying discourse: they have no proposals.\nIn reality, it&#8217;s not about political ideologies, it&#8217;s about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/wissenschaft\/mensch\/russland-und-saudi-arabien-die-achse-des-oels-kolumne-a-851c12d7-0c03-46a3-801a-52f32e71e025\">defending fossil fuel business models<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repression leads to aggression against, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tagesschau.de\/inland\/gesellschaft\/angriffe-wettermoderatoren-100.html\">meteorologists on TV<\/a> who receive hate messages.\nPeople only believe what they want to believe.\nResearchers say that dissonant information is devalued and consonant information is valorized.\nThe fact that humanity is in the process of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/wissenschaft\/mensch\/duerre-waldbraende-schmelzende-gletscher-willkommen-in-ihrer-neuen-realitaet-a-628fc3d3-abb0-43ab-8c8e-6df7bd248f49\">destroying the basis of human life<\/a> with its way of life generates unpleasant emotions: Feelings of guilt, fears, sadness about the squandered future, the inevitable suffering and dying.\nIn other words, cognitive dissonance.\nPseudo-information that suggests everything is not so bad can have a relieving effect.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Disciplines<\/strong>: object, sculpture, installation, photo, painting, drawing, printmaking, video with credits, sound is possible.\nA performative contribution such as a performance, VJ or similar to the vernissage, artist talk or finissage is welcome. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>International works<\/strong>: letters and videos from non-EU countries.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We offer<\/strong> exhibition space with equipment, bar, advertising by mail and various websites and social media.\nWebsites and social media and web and print flyers, organization of the work texts, the lecture, the documentation. <br\/><strong>We<\/strong> do not charge a fee for applications, exhibitions etc. We are a free, self-organized project space and work on a voluntary basis.\nWe ask that senders enclose return postage for works sent to us.\nUnfortunately, there is no budget for production, additional technical equipment, transportation and insurance (the space is technically secured).\nWe expect good cooperation and agree on rules of cooperation, <a href=\"https:\/\/gg3.eu\/angebot-fuer-kuenstler-innen\/\">gg3 rules regeln 2022<\/a>, pdf.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Individual artists or existing artist groups can apply online with a maximum of three works.\nthree works. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presence of regional artists is desired for the vernissage and the artist talk, as is the supervision of the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/gg3.eu\/open-calls\/open-call-augenwischer\/\">Further information<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Application deadline: August 26, 2024<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Organized repression of the climate crisis.
