Maybe you already know it – maybe you’re hearing it for the first time today: if women in Saxony-Anhalt need the protection of a women’s shelter, they have to pay an average of 16 euros per day themselves. For children there is an additional 10 euros. In a situation where safety, emergency decisions and a new start are often at stake, this personal contribution is an additional burden for many. No one should have to hesitate to bring themselves and their children to safety out of financial concern. <\/p>\n\n
That’s why we cordially invite you to our second charity art auction “Art for Protection” at Basta in Magdeburg on March 7, 2026.<\/p>\n\n
This auction is part of a completely voluntary initiative that was set up independently of the sponsoring association. Its aim is to provide direct relief to affected women and children and to cover the costs of shelter places in women’s shelters in a spirit of solidarity. <\/p>\n\n
Once again this year, artists from the region and beyond have donated their works. We were able to raise over 7,000 euros at the last auction. This corresponds to more than 466 nights in which people seeking protection found safety, professional support and a bit of stability. <\/p>\n\n
We were deeply moved by this result – and it encourages us to collect part of the personal contribution together with you again this year.<\/p>\n\n
During the event, guests will have the opportunity to bid for special works of art and thus directly raise funds for shelter places in the women’s shelters in Saxony-Anhalt.<\/p>\n\n
