G\u00fcterbahnhof Bremen – Areal f\u00fcr Kunst und Kultur e.V. is awarding a one-year studio grant to an artist living in Bremen starting May 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n
About the Bremen freight depot – an area for art and culture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n G\u00fcterbahnhof Bremen – Areal f\u00fcr Kunst und Kultur has been a place of work for independent artists, creative and cultural professionals and a central art and culture location for Bremen’s independent scene since 1997. 36,000 square meters of space are available for studios, rehearsal rooms, production studios and exhibition and event spaces for contemporary art and culture. Around 300 artists, creative and cultural professionals work here in around 100 workspaces. <\/p>\n\n The scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n The studio grant includes the free use of an approx. 20 square meter workspace on the grounds of the G\u00fcterbahnhof for a period of twelve months (May 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027). The space is located on the 2nd floor of the studio building and is unfortunately not barrier-free. G\u00fcterbahnhof Bremen – Areal f\u00fcr Kunst und Kultur e.V. promotes exchange with other artists and cultural workers, enables the use of workshops and offers space to try out new ways of working and further develop one’s own artistic practice. At the end of the scholarship year, there is an optional opportunity to present work as part of an exhibition or other format at one of the G\u00fcterbahnhof’s exhibition venues. The willingness to participate in the GB-Open (Open Studios) in September is a prerequisite. <\/p>\n\n Who can apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Applications are open to professional artists working in all areas of the visual arts who are resident in Bremen, regardless of age or educational background.<\/p>\n\n Viewing appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n A viewing appointment for the space will take place on 18.3.2026 between 5-6 pm.
