The BBK Saxony-Anhalt would like to show the film “Von der Kunst nachzulassen” by Ben Kesselring and Michael Fritschi as part of the AG K\u00fcnstlernachl\u00e4sse.<\/p>\n\n

Date: April 18, 2026, 8 p.m.<\/p>\n\n

With the film “\u00dcber die Kunst nachzulassen”, the Swiss directing duo Michael Fritschi and Ben Kesselring have illuminated an important niche and tackled the topic of what should happen to art when its creators are no longer around. Off to the trough? Or wouldn’t it be good if a core collection of the most important works across all creative phases were preserved? The artists could even be remembered with a retrospective? <\/p>\n\n

Artists often have little interest in archiving or engaging intensively with their life’s work. Instead, they are driven to create new works. The film shows families of artists who help the artist parent with solutions. The film also shows how institutions deal with artists’ estates and their attitude towards art. <\/p>\n\n
