The long-term program promotes sustainable alternatives to fossil-based or toxic materials commonly used in arts and design with the aim of fostering ecologically mindful approaches in these creative fields.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working among a cohort of some 35 artists, designers, curators, writers, and other creative minds will provide the two Research Fellows with insights into the daily complexities of the transition towards sustainable materials, as well as the opportunity to exchange with and learn from a multitude of practices around the world.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next to the community at the Jan van Eyck Academie, the two Research Fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers, students, technicians, and companies in Maastricht, dedicated to the circular transition and sustainable materials.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These two material research positions are part of the program Future Threads, supported by the Just Transition Fund (JTF), co-funded by the European Union.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.janvaneyck.nl\/calendar\/2-material-research-fellowships-2027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Further information<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Application deadline: June 24, 2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the framework of the Future Materials program, the Jan van Eyck Academie is accepting applications for 1 Fashion &amp; Textile Material Fellowship and 1 Future Materials Fellowship both lasting 11 months.
