In cooperation with the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation, art and science will engage in a productive dialogue\u2014linked by this year\u2019s Leopoldina theme: Autonomy. A concept that lies between freedom and limitation, between self-determination and social, technological, and ethical constraints.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the \u201cWhite House,\u201d the Leopoldina\u2019s headquarters on J\u00e4gerberg in Halle (Saale), two artistic installations are on display: Sculptor Julia Schleicher\u2019s installation \u201cThe Autonomy of the Puppet\u201d transforms the interior spaces with over thirty large-scale cocoons and insect pupae\u2014symbols of transformation and self-realization. Outside, the art collective KLUB7 has created the three-part installation \u201cCollective Autonomy\u201d: colorfully treated building materials, collaged into large-scale spatial arrangements featuring light and sound elements. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation and the Leopoldina cordially invite you to the opening of the installations on August 21, 2026:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Starting at 5:00 p.m. \u2013 Welcome reception in the garden with a welcome drink<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6:00 p.m. \u2013 Opening ceremony in the ballroom:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opening Remarks by Prof. Dr. Bettina Rockenbach, President of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remarks by Rainer Robra, Minister of State and Minister of Culture of the State of Saxony-Anhalt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Panel discussion on the topic of \u201cAutonomy\u201d and the artworks, moderated by Prof. Dr. Charlotte Klonk (Professor of Art and New Media, Humboldt University of Berlin), with Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hommel (Leopoldina), Manon Bursian (Director of the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation), Mike Okay and Ingo Albrecht (KLUB7), and Julia Schleicher<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Musical accompaniment by the Hallenser Madrigalisten e.V. chamber choir<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Starting at 7:00 p.m. \u2013 Reception in the garden with food and drinks, as well as guided tours led by the artists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7:30 p.m. \u2013 Live music followed by a DJ set by Loy Bonheur<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit the installations from August 24 to October 11, 2026, during the following hours: <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garden with the Klub7 installation at<br\/>, open Mon\u2013Fri from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garden featuring the Klub7 installation and an exhibition by Julia Schleicher in the building at<br\/>; open on Sundays, August 30, September 27, and October 11 from 1:00\u20135:00 p.m.<br\/>and on Open Monument Day, September 13, from 10:00 a.m.\u20134:00 p.m.<br\/>as well as during public events  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Admission is free.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kunststiftung-sachsen-anhalt.de\/autonomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Further information<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Autonomy \u2013 KLUB7 &amp; Julia Schleicher at the Leopoldina Art Meets Science For the first time, the annual meeting of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina will be enriched by artistic interventions.
