Its history as a place of hospitality, exchange, and social life continues to shape the building to this day. The architecture, the building\u2019s history of use, and its transformation from a restaurant to a museum create a unique space for artistic, culinary, and scholarly engagement. The newly launched residency program at the MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam draws on the venue\u2019s history and present, contextualizing the building as a place where art, food, memory, and the public intersect.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Residency: Cooking as an Artistic and Cultural Practice  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Culinary Residency invites chefs, artists, food designers, and interdisciplinary practitioners who wish to explore the history of the former terrace restaurant or new contemporary forms of communal dining. We are seeking proposals that view cooking as a cultural and artistic practice and address questions of community, memory, hospitality, nutrition, regional traditions, as well as agricultural science, ecology, and the future of food.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the residency, the fellow will develop their own project and contribute their work to the museum\u2019s public program. The goal is to open up new perspectives on art, food, and social issues and to actively engage visitors. The residency provides a space to develop new formats and create culinary projects at the intersection of art, cooking, food, culture, sustainability, and social issues, and to view the museum as a place of exchange and encounter for these purposes.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Possible formats include, among others:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Development of a seasonal menu item or a signature dish for the museum caf\u00e9, Caf\u00e9bar HEDWIG<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public cooking events or supper clubs  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cooking Workshops and Classes  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communal Meals and Participatory Formats  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artistic or performance-based dinners  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Projects on regional, historical, or sustainable food cultures  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>interdisciplinary collaborations with artists, scientists, or local initiatives  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The examples listed are intended to serve as inspiration. We expressly welcome your own ideas and experimental approaches. We particularly welcome projects that offer new perspectives on the history of the institution and foster dialogue between research, art, and the public. We also expressly welcome projects that combine culinary arts with artistic research.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the duration of their stay, the selected scholarship recipient will receive:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a scholarship of 1,000 euros per month  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reimbursement of travel expenses related to the start of the residency  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a furnished apartment  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a Germany Ticket  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possibility of covering the production costs of the submitted project proposal  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to exhibitions and relevant areas of the museum  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support from the museum team in developing and implementing projects  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The application should include:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Short Biography  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portfolio or Samples of Work  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brief description of the project idea (max. 2 pages)  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost Estimate for the Project (max. 1 page)   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>We expressly welcome applications from people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and disciplines. MINSK assists the selected fellow with organizational matters related to entering Germany.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accompanying family members are welcome. Accommodations for up to three people will be provided. However, we are unable to cover any living, travel, or subsistence expenses for accompanying family members.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications may be submitted as a PDF file (max. 10 pages, 5 MB) via email to <a href=\"mailto:residency@dasminsk.de\">residency@dasminsk.de<\/a> through September 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>The scholarship recipient will be selected by a panel of experts.
