Riot Police Headquarters<\/strong> Dresden Stauffenbergallee Location\u2014Relocation of the Police Mounted Unit <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Reason for and Objective of the Competition<\/p>\n\n

The Free State of Saxony, represented by the state-owned enterprise Saxon Real Estate and Construction Management, Dresden 1 Branch, plans to relocate the police mounted unit to the Stauffenbergallee 18 site for use by government agencies and the police.The police mounted unit is currently housed in a rented property in Gro\u00dferkmannsdorf.The relocation of the police mounted unit to Stauffenbergallee calls for new buildings with various uses as well as associated outdoor facilities.<\/p>\n\n

TO 1 Stable Building and Feed StorageTO 2 Administrative BuildingTO 3 CarportTO 4 Indoor Riding ArenaTO 5 Horse WalkerTO Carport Weidemann (part of the outdoor facilities)<\/p>\n\n

The buildings will be constructed using sustainable wood or hybrid wood construction methods, featuring green gabled roofs or metal roofing with photovoltaic systems.In addition to the riding arena, paddocks and pastures for the horses will be integrated into the police property.A \u201cArt in Architecture\u201d competition will be held to address the artistic aspects of the construction project. This competition is the subject of the call for entries presented here.<\/p>\n\n

Call for Entries.The organizer intends to select 7 artists to participate in the competition, at least 1 of whom must be a \u201cyoung artist.\u201dCall for Entries<\/p>\n\n
The deadline for receipt of applications is December 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.The use of the forms (Attachment – Application Form) is mandatory for applying to participate in the competition. All information on the form must be completed in full and, where applicable, supported by copies of supporting documents.<\/p>\n\n

Please send your application materials by email to the following address: landschaft@schubert-horst.de<\/a>The applications received will be formally reviewed by the office overseeing the process. The final selection of the 7 artists, as well as 2 potential alternates who will be contacted in the event that a selected participant withdraws, is made by an external selection committee based on the submitted references (see Section 1.4, Proof of Eligibility). The members of the selection committee who are art experts are not part of the jury.The selected artists will be notified and invited to participate in the competition. The artists must reconfirm their participation by December 21, 2026; if necessary, the selected alternates will be invited.<\/p>\n\n
Competition<\/p>\n\n
Participation in the competition requires the submission of one competition entry that is ready for implementation.Submitted entries will be anonymized by the office overseeing the process.The language of the competition is German.The competition is conducted in accordance with the \u201cLeitfaden Kunst am Bau\u201d (Guidelines for Art in Architecture), 3rd edition, and follows the 2013 Guidelines for Planning Competitions (RPW).<\/p>\n\n
Eligibility<\/p>\n\n
Only natural persons who are professionally active as visual artists or in visual arts consortia are eligible to participate.<\/p>\n\n
Consortia are considered a single competitor. Each member of a consortium must be eligible to participate.The members of a consortium agree to maintain the same composition throughout the entire competitive bidding process and, in the event of a recommendation for implementation, until the contract is fulfilled. Consortia must designate an authorized representative.Members of consortia may not participate in the competition individually or in multiple groups, and thus may not submit multiple entries. Participation by individual members of consortia in more than one consortium is also prohibited and will result in the exclusion of all affected entries (no multiple submissions).<\/p>\n\n
For young artists, the upper age limit is 35 years old. Students are not eligible.<\/p>\n\n
