TaDA – Textile and Design Alliance Artist in Residence Program

TaDA – Textile and Design Alliance is a cultural promotion program of the cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Thurgau. It enables an experimental and innovative exploration of Eastern Switzerland’s textile and design culture and works together with textile companies anchored in the region. Every year, TaDA offers six
national and international personalities the opportunity to work in Switzerland. The residents develop projects in the fields of architecture, design, art,
literature, performative arts or in transdisciplinary contexts. Textile companies and institutions from Eastern Switzerland make their know-how and technology available to the artists as program
partners. This gives the residents the opportunity for practical artistic work and applied research.
For their part, the partners count on the creative exchange with the invited artists. The results of their work are presented to the public at various events.

Notes

The residency is aimed at creatives and artists from all disciplines with a proven interest in the textile industry, textile culture and sustainability.
Basic technical knowledge of textile production is an advantage. A willingness to respond to the concerns of partners is also important. Particularly welcome are
projects with a strong experimental orientation. The reference to the TaDA partners must be included in the project outlines.
