Residency scholarship in Ahrenshoop

Since 2006, the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation has made it possible to live and work in the special atmosphere of one of the oldest artists’ residences in Germany. The Künstlerhaus Lukas, founded in 1894 by Paul Müller-Kaempff as a painting school for female artists, offers its scholarship holders the freedom for artistic creation and reflection: international artists from the fields of visual arts, literature, dance and music work together here. Readings, talks, performances, concerts and exhibitions take place regularly.

In 2026, the Art Foundation will once again enable a one-month residency at the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop.

  • The scholarship is awarded for October 1 to 31, 2026.
  • The Art Foundation bears the accommodation and travel costs.
  • A stipend of € 1,500 is paid for the month.

Artists from all disciplines whose main place of residence is in Saxony-Anhalt and who work freelance as their main occupation are eligible to apply. Applications can only be submitted digitally until February 9, 2026 via the application portal of the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation. All information can be found on the Website of the Art Foundation Saxony-Anhalt.

Application deadline: February 9, 2026
