The Art Fund introduces itself II – Preserving works, recording works: A look at the practice

Dear artists,

How can works of art be preserved for future generations? How do we keep works from artistic estates accessible to the public in the long term? And who chooses what remains? The Stiftung Kunstfonds and the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt will present their respective program approaches to the promotion of works of art and invite you to discuss the topic.

On Wednesday, 14.05.2025, at 6 pm at the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt

First, Manon Bursian, Director of the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt, and Karin Lingl, Managing Director of the Kunstfonds Foundation, will present the aims and structure of their funding programs. Then Barbara Nemitz, visual artist and recipient of funding under the KUNSTFONDS_Werkverzeichnung program, and Susanne Altmann, art historian and creator of the Kunstfonds-funded cataloguing of works by artist Christa Jeitner, will explain why the topic is relevant from their point of view and what practical experience they have had so far with the digital cataloguing of works.

We look forward to the exchange!

The event takes place as part of the current Kunstfonds scholarship holder exhibition at the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt, which presents works by the 2024 Kunstfonds scholarship holders Ahu Dural, Marta Dyachenko, Monika Grabuschnigg, Andrea Grützner, Samuel Henne, Doris Kaiser, Selma Laura Köran, Roy Mordechay, David Polzin, Anna Schimkat and André Wischnewski. It is worth taking a tour of the exhibition rooms before the event!

When: Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 6 p.m.

Where? Art Foundation Saxony-Anhalt, Neuwerk 11, 06108 Halle

Best regards,
