Under pressure – a pair of words that oscillate between collective mood and individual experience. Whether social pressure, divisive tendencies, ecological tipping points, psychological strain, economic pressure or performative stress: our present is characterized by multiple tensions.
On the occasion of its 80th anniversary, the Künstler*innen Vereinigung Tirol 2026 is using the annual curatorial concept Under Pressure to search for exhibition projects that create relationships and confront explosive stress factors and areas of tension and their consequences. In doing so, they capture the prevailing complexity of our contemporary reality, are open to new and alternative ideas and make change conceivable.

The international call is aimed at artists from all artistic disciplines, media and practices. Concrete exhibition projects, concepts, artistic interventions and portfolios can be submitted.
