DAS KONSULAT is a temporary art project of the BB Foundation that offers artists, designers and interdisciplinary actors space and project grants for context-specific, site-specific and experimental works in Stuttgart. DAS KONSULAT sees itself as an artistic experiment at the interface between institution, society and artistic practice. It reflects on the functions of spaces, questions their original meaning and opens up new possibilities for use. Prior to the planned conversion of the building into the future BB Foundation House, it offers a unique opportunity to recontextualize the site in its current state for temporary artistic transformations. DAS KONSULAT is both a place and a theme. The call for proposals invites artists to engage with the multi-layered theme of DAS KONSULAT in order to visualize diverse perspectives on existing structures, as well as traces of the original use or personal/collective stories and memories.
