For several decades, the Heimatverein Göpfersdorf has been running a gallery in which around 140 exhibitions of paintings and prints by regional and well-known artists have been held. Our special intention is to promote and honor printmaking. For this reason, we have been awarding a scholarship since 2018, which allows artists to work in our print workshop in relief and intaglio printing. A presentation of the works created during the scholarship concludes the residency.
The scholarship is awarded to artists whose artistic work in the field of printmaking is the focus of their activities. Eligible are artists who have not yet reached the age of 40. A good knowledge of German is required. Residency is compulsory during the scholarship period.
Residence period: July – August
The artist-in-residence program includes accommodation costs in a local guesthouse, a travel allowance of € 400.00 and a materials allowance of € 500.00.
A jury decides on the awarding of the scholarship. It consists of five expert members and assesses the artistic quality of the applications.
There is a cooperation with the Lindenau-Museum Altenburg. The museum is a partner of our scholarship. One specimen copy of each of the prints created on site should be added to the collection of the Lindenau Museum.
