OPEN CALL: Exhibition at CUBIC in 2026

We are looking for:

Artists for an exhibition at CUBIC in the period from September to October 2026.

The CUBIC art cube is a sculpture in the public space of the Hanseatic city of Greifswald and at the same time an exhibition space for contemporary art. It is located in Greifswald’s city center on Karl-Marx-Platz in the immediate vicinity of the main train station and can be viewed through four glass surfaces of different sizes.

Artistic projects and works from all disciplines that enable sculptural and site-specific forms of presentation can be submitted. Site-specific and conceptual approaches are also possible. We are looking for an artistic position that, in addition to the quality of the artistic work, offers exciting spatial perspectives as well as innovative forms of presentation and current references.

The application must be submitted with a project outline and work examples (max. 5 pages/ max. 10 MB) as a PDF document by May 24, 2026 by e-mail.

NOTE: The interior of the CUBIC artspace has a size of 2.20 m x 2.20 m x 2.20 m with wall and glass surfaces of different widths. Electricity is only available from dusk until approx. 23:00. Further information can be found in the data sheet for the art cube.

An expert jury with representatives of the art-cube – Raum für zeitgenössische Kunst e.V. art association will decide on the selection. The decision will be announced in June 2026.

We offer:

For the realization of an exhibition project, an expense allowance of 200 euros, travel and accommodation costs as well as pro rata material costs up to a maximum of 100 euros are provided.

The specific exhibition period will be determined by arrangement. An opening may take place as part of the Greifswald Culture Night on Friday, September 11, 2026.
