Visual Arts Scholarships 2027

In 2027, the Krull Foundation will award up to three work grants in the field of visual arts to artists living and working in Berlin or Brandenburg.
The grants are awarded for a period of twelve months (January 1 to December 31, 2027) and are endowed with €1,200 per month.

Object of funding and eligibility requirements
Funding is available for artistic projects in the visual arts, in particular in the fields of painting, sculpture and photography.
Projects in the fields of video and digital art and performance are not eligible for funding in 2027.
Artists who
– have completed an artistic education or
– can demonstrate several years of professional artistic activity are eligible to apply.
There must be an individual need for funding. Students are not eligible to apply.
The foundation reserves the right to combine the scholarships with participation in a group exhibition in Berlin.

Selection procedure
The basis for the decision is a coherent concept for a work project that reveals an independent artistic position and its further development.
Further assessment criteria include, in particular, previous artistic activity as well as funding and awards received.
The foundation decides on the award on the basis of the recommendation of an independent jury of experts. There is no legal entitlement to funding.

Only the “Application form for the 2027 work scholarship” must be used for the application (available at Forms).
The form must be completed in full and truthfully, signed in person and submitted electronically together with the required documents to by 31.05.2026, 23:59 at the latest.
