Kallmann Prize of the Kreissparkasse 2026

The prize is awarded to artists living in Germany who deal with the subject areas of portrait / animal / landscape, which were the focus of Hans Jürgen Kallmann’s work.

Hans Jürgen Kallmann was a German painter and draughtsman who lived from 1908-1991 and on whose initiative the Kallmann Foundation was founded, which runs the Kallmann Museum in Ismaning. Exhibitions of modern and contemporary art have been shown there since 1992.

The Kreissparkasse Kallmann Prize is awarded to one winner and the two other shortlisted entries. The prize is endowed with a total of 20,000 euros. It consists of 3,000 euros in prize money, 500 euros each for the two shortlisted artists and 16,000 euros for the exhibition of the three prize winners at the Kallmann Museum. In 2026, the prize will be awarded in the “Portrait” category.
