Visual artists, artist duos and their legal successors can apply for funding to create a digital catalog raisonné until May 31, 2025.
The KUNSTFONDS_Werkverzeichnung funding program promotes the digital documentation of artistic life’s work that is of supra-regional importance and high artistic relevance. All measures that are necessary to implement the catalog raisonné are eligible for funding.
The requested funding amount must be at least 10,000 euros and max. 30,000 euros. The digital cataloging is carried out in a cataloging program provided by the Stiftung Kunstfonds.

Applications can only be submitted via the online application portal of the Kunstfonds Foundation.

Funding decisions are made by the “Commission for the acceptance of artists’ estates and the awarding of the “KUNSTFONDS_Werkzeichnung” funding program” in a democratic vote and according to artistic quality. The jury is expected to make its funding decision at the end of September 2025.
Works of contemporary visual art are important sources of our present, which must be preserved. They will be a central part of our future art heritage.
The program is financed by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) with funds from the German Bundestag.
