Art on the water 2025 / Wood sculpture symposium

Since 2001, the “Art on the Water” symposium at the Kriebstein Dam has been a permanent fixture on the Central Saxon Cultural Summer schedule. With the support of the ZWA Hainichen, the Zweckverband Kriebsteintalsperre and the municipality of Kriebstein, the idea has become a tradition and numerous works of art on a wide variety of themes have been created in recent years, which now form the art trail around the watercourse. Once again this year, we would like to offer artists a platform for their artistic work and hereby invite them to take part in our plein air and call for applications.

This year’s plein air is scheduled to take place from July 2 to 6, 2025 at the castle in Ringethal on the Zschopau.

Whether sculptures, sculpture groups, installations or painted surfaces are made from wood is left up to the artists themselves. Only a reference to water and culture should be made.
