The Bösenberg Foundation in cooperation with the Künstlerhaus Meinersen is offering an art scholarship for visual artists in residence at the Künstlerhaus Meinersen for 2026.
“Smiling” has a magical effect. The “smile of the Mona Lisa” is the most expensive painting in the world, a subtle smile has often led to special reactions from the other person. The scholarship concerns the artistic exploration of the phenomenon of the “smile”.
Benefits:
The scholarship includes a monthly amount of €1000 as well as a rent-free stay in the Meinersen Künstlerhaus (living and studio space). At the end of the scholarship, there will be a solo exhibition at the Künstlerhaus Meinersen.
Duration: 15.4.2026 – 28.3.2027
Conditions: The scholarship holder must live and work predominantly in the Künstlerhaus for the duration of the scholarship; compulsory attendance. The works created during this time are to be made accessible to the public in consultation with the Bösenberg Foundation and the board of the Künstlerhaus Meinersen association.
