Drawings, audio pieces, photographs, textile objects, installations and figures, films, humorous drawings, large-format paintings, and atmospheric poems explore nature and space in relation to temporalities, searching—with a critical eye toward the media—for the moment, reach for lost, past, or longed-for time, explore biographical moments, tell of birth and the tides, of the present, utopia, and farewell, or shed light on our need to measure time. At the heart of this year’s Werkleitz Festival, the major exhibition—spanning three floors—presents an impressive selection of contemporary works from over 300 submissions, standing in contrast to the opulent historic department store architecture.
