Andrea Neumann Art Prize 2026/2027

The Andrea Neumann Art Prize is a continuation of the art and cultural work of the painter Andrea Neumann (* 1969 † 2020). At home in Lorraine and Saarland, active in Luxembourg’s art scene, she was particularly interested in networking artists in the Greater Region. She is committed to fair working conditions and access to the art market for artists in the region. The competition is open to artists and collectives from the visual arts who live and work in the Greater Region (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Lorraine, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Wallonia) and is gender-neutral with no age restrictions. The Andrea Neumann Art Prize is endowed with 5,000 euros. The prizewinner will present his/her artistic work in an exhibition at the Saarländisches Künstlerhaus in 2027. Two thirds of the prize money will be paid out after the announcement of the winner, the remaining third after the opening of the exhibition. A catalog will be published to accompany the exhibition.

Material costs as well as travel and transportation costs of up to 1,500 euros can be claimed upon presentation of original receipts or invoice.
For the application, a meaningful portfolio documenting previous work (tabular CV, photo documentation and/or demo recording of previous work) as well as an exhibition concept (max. 2000 characters) is expected.

Applicants are free to choose the medium, the working method and the thematic approach. The application documents must be submitted in German or French in electronic form to: (max. 10 MB or via link as data transfer).

The five-member jury is made up of a representative of the ME Saar Foundation, a member of the board of the Saarländisches Künstlerhaus, two art professionals from the Greater Region and a young curator.

The ME Saar Foundation is the exclusive sponsor of the Andrea Neumann Art Prize.
