Invitation to tender for a group exhibition in the 4D of the BBK Leipzig e.V. in the Kulturhof Gohlis on the annual theme “Interspaces”
The Bund Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler Leipzig e.V. is organizing a group exhibition in its 4D project location as part of its theme year “Zwischenräume”.
Members of the association and external parties can apply, primarily as a joint group. The exhibitors are responsible for planning, setting up and designing the exhibition. A reference to the annual theme “Interspaces” should be established.
The theme of the year, “Zwischenräume” (spaces in-between), further deepens the research on free spaces, artistic production and the studio question in Leipzig. We want to raise awareness of the different forms and conditions of visual artistic work, stimulate a fruitful cultural-political discussion about the value of the visual arts between high culture and the independent scene in the city of Leipzig and anchor a consensus on the necessary change in the consciousness of urban society. “Zwischenräume” invites young and old, new members and long-time residents, artists and non-artists to work in the in-between, to find new formats for exhibition activities and to use spaces for interim solutions.
Insurance: BBK Leipzig e.V. will insure the exhibits for the duration of the exhibition. The sum insured must be submitted in writing when the documents are submitted. Changes are possible by arrangement. The list must be submitted by 29.01.2026. Amount of insurance: Due to the limited total sum insured that BBK Leipzig e.V. can provide, the maximum insured value per exhibition is €45,000. (We are aware that this may not reflect the value of the work, but we ask for your understanding). Insurance for sculptures, paintings and objects: Sculptures and objects with an edge length of 35 cm or less must, in order to be insured against the risks of loss and theft, be housed in locked glass display cases or showcases and/or secured against easy removal by means of mechanical and/or electronic security. Furthermore, they must be secured against
simply tipping over, being knocked over or knocked off their base. Showcases or similar must be provided by the artists themselves; the artists are responsible for mechanical security.

Exhibition period: 10.02.2026 to 26.02.2026

Application: The application contains a briefly elaborated, meaningful exhibition concept in text and image. A PDF in A4 format (max. 5 MB) with text, images of the works to be exhibited and the relevant information (names of artists, title, year, size, technique) must be submitted to .
Delivery and collection of the works: The participating artists are responsible for transportation, BBK Leipzig e.V. cannot assume any costs. Packaging material cannot be stored. After the end of the exhibition, the works must be collected on 03.03.2026 by 3 pm. Then the insurance cover ends.
Invitation/public relations. BBK Leipzig e.V. will produce a (digital) invitation card in DIN A6 format (105 x 148 mm) and a poster. The artists will be provided with an appropriate number of copies. BBK LEIPZIG e.V. will inform regional media about the exhibition and
will promote the event via its online platforms.
Fees/reimbursement of expenses: The BBK Leipzig e.V. plans to pay an expense allowance for the artists. Due to the fact that funding has not yet been confirmed, we ask for your understanding that this cannot yet be specified.
Exhibition note: A hanging system is available and the possibility to work with screws and nails is limited.
Supervision: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. can be covered by GS, after this time it is the responsibility of the exhibiting artists by arrangement.
Consent: The artist assures that he/she is the sole owner of all rights to the works to be exhibited and gives his/her consent for photos of the exhibits and person to be used during the exhibition (e.g. vernissage) for BBK Leipzig e.V. publications or advertising purposes.
Exhibition: BBK Leipzig e.V. reserves the right not to present submitted works for technical reasons (incorrect information on submission, weight, dimensions, etc.) after informing the artist. Room handover and delivery: A room and key handover will take place on January 3, 2026. The participating artists are responsible for the transport of their works, BBK Leipzig e.V. cannot assume any costs. Exhibitors pay a deposit of 100 euros for the handover of the room.
End of exhibition: The room must be handed over in its original condition at the end of the exhibition in accordance with the handover protocol.
