With around 190 further and advanced training courses, the program opens up numerous opportunities for education, art and culture professionals to expand their skills and learn and try out new methods for working with children and young people.
The program covers the entire spectrum of cultural education – from music, theater and dance to games, media and literature to interdisciplinary offerings. In addition to compact further education courses, it offers in-service training that encourages people to enter new fields of work. The new “Move & Dance” qualification, which provides practical insights into dance education, will start for the first time in 2026. The multi-phaseArtistic Research Educationcourse is also new. It combines artistic work with scientific methods and democratic collaboration.
The editorial section of the 2026 program booklet is dedicated to the topic of “wrestling”. The image of wrestling stands for the search for compromises and new forms of cooperation. Articles and selected courses show how wrestling can succeed in a wide variety of facets as a respectful exchange at eye level.
Power-critical and democracy-building courses such as “Macht – Partizipation – Theaterpädagogik!?” and “Demokratiebildung im interaktiven Theater” look at how democratic processes can be shaped when working with children and young people. Courses such as “Conflicts, Crises, Catastrophes” take the tensions that can arise in groups as an approach to change.
In addition, courses on trauma education teach the basics and methods that enable professionals to support young people in stressful situations. The 2026 program also focuses on education for sustainable development (ESD). It understands sustainability not only as environmental education, but also includes social justice and global responsibility.
The symposium “Has the drop been sucked? Sustainability needs imagination ” focuses on action-oriented perspectives. In addition, courses such as “Orchard meadows as ESD learning spaces” or “Color Craft: Colors from the garden” take up ecological topics and combine them with playful artistic methods. Activities such as “5 Days, 5 Materials” invite participants to work in a way that is critical of consumption. The play culture festival On Tour will also focus on the relationship between people, space and nature in 2026 with the theme “Green Play”. All courses can now be viewed and booked directly at www.kulturellebildung.de. Printed copies are available to order free of charge at or 02191-7940. The complete 2026 program can be downloaded here.
