The Weißenfels artist Christina Simon was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in November 2025. Minister President Dr. Reiner Haseloff presented the award in the Magdeburg State Chancellery. A total of eight orders of merit were presented on the day.
Christina Simon is an impressive example of how culture can grow from the bottom up and thrive on the commitment of citizens. The 61-year-old teacher has been committed to art and culture for many years and her art association BRAND-SANIERUNG is considered an important cultural institution in Weißenfels.
