Artist grant from the Emsländische Landschaft e. V.

In 2027, the Emsländische Landschaft e. V. for the districts of Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim will award a working grant for visual artists for the tenth time.

The theme: Turning points at the border
Borders stand for both separation and protection, for conflict, control and identity. They create structure and mark transitions – places where something ends and something new begins at the same time. They define where we feel safe, separate the familiar from the foreign and can create both belonging and exclusion. The scholarship invites artists to explore questions relating to borders, particularly in the Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim region – for example, historical developments, cultural influences, visible and invisible borders and their significance in a globalized world.

Applications are open to professional visual artists who have successfully completed a subject-related course of study at a state art academy or university or who have achieved outstanding results due to their particular talent and artistic development.

The scholarship is endowed with EUR 9,000. In addition, a budget is available for the production of an exhibition and catalog.

The results are to be presented in the fall of 2027 in the form of an exhibition at the Kunsthalle Lingen.

Application deadline: July 31, 2026
