The NORD/LB Kulturstiftung sees the importance of art and culture in topics that may not be the focus of conventional cultural activities. For us, innovation and change to cope with social adaptation processes are the topics of tomorrow’s cultural work.
The NORD/LB Cultural Foundation, founded on November 29, 2012, was established by Norddeutsche Landesbank. The financial basis for the cultural foundation was the proceeds from the sale of the sculpture “Tulips” by Jeff Koons, which was purchased in 2002 for the new NORD/LB building in Hanover.
The purpose of the NORD/LB Cultural Foundation is the idealistic and financial promotion of art and culture in places where NORD/LB does business, in particular in the federal states of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This also applies to NORD/LB’s foreign locations.
The purpose of the foundation is realized in particular through the promotion of cultural institutions and cultural projects, the acquisition or safeguarding of valuable cultural assets, through the foundation’s own cultural events, the establishment of its own collection, the awarding of scholarships and cultural prizes as well as research and teaching in the cultural field.
In order to take account of the changes and developments in society, the NORD/LB Kulturstiftung will take up cross-form and cross-thematic projects that focus in particular on young people, actively involve them and bring them closer to culture.
Applications are possible on an ongoing basis.
