Open Call on the topic HEIMAT with exhibition at BLECH. Space for Art Halle e.V.

H e i m a t according to Duden:

  • Country, part of the country or place where you were [born and] grew up or where you feel at home due to permanent residence (often as a sentimental expression of close ties to a particular region)
  • Country of origin of an animal, plant, product, technology, etc.

“Home as a close world that is understandable and transparent, as a framework in which expectations of behaviour are stabilized, in which meaningful, assessable action is possible – home as the opposite of foreignness and alienation, as an area of appropriation, of active penetration, of reliability”. (Hermann Bausinger)

Under the working title Homeland we are looking for artists, especially but not exclusively,
with a history of migration, who deal with the described concept creatively and thematically
.

Whether collage, textiles, photography, video, sculpture, drawing
or painting – there are no technical limits for the exhibitors.

A connection to Halle’s cultural theme year “City of Bridges. Coming. Going. Stay.” would be desirable.
