Artist competition
For the sixth time, the further education institute WbI, in cooperation with the Künstlerförderverein Oberhausen and with the support of the LUDWIGGALERIE Schloss Oberhausen, is organizing a competition for fine art.
OBERHAUSEN CITY ARTS offers local and regional as well as national artists from the fields of painting, graphics, sculpture and photography a centrally located forum for the presentation of selected exhibits. The aim is to strengthen communication between creative people and art lovers and to promote encounters with citizens. The project, under the patronage of Lord Mayor Daniel Schranz, is a contribution to showing Oberhausen city center as an attractive place of diverse culture and cultures.
Total prize money: 3,500 euros
Three prize winners will be nominated by a jury from the applications submitted. The first prize is endowed with 2,000 euros, the second prize with 1,000 euros and the third prize with 500 euros. At an exclusive event in 2025, the winners will receive a certificate from the Mayor of Oberhausen. In 2026, all prize winners will be invited to a joint exhibition including a festive vernissage in rooms provided by the Institute for Continuing Education.

Applications must be submitted by 17.10.2025:
- a representative, meaningful presentation of the artistic works (max. six works) with one to three photos each (numbered consecutively and with details of the photographer)
- completed application form (download below)
- Short CV, artistic career, any previous solo and group exhibitions and media reports (one A4 page)
