MONSTER Exhibition is an international art project that began in 2013 and was originally inspired by the devastating effects of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011. It centers on the symbolic theme of the Kaiju – a creature that represents both divine nature and destructive power in Japanese culture.
The MONSTER Exhibition will take place for the 13th time in spring 2026 at the historic Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin. This edition offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange between Japanese and German artists and promotes dialog through artistic expression.
