About the sponsor
AIM Kulturprojekte im ländlichen Raum e.V. is the sponsor of the ArtLab in the Kunstpavillon Burgbrohl in northern Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 2016, AIM e.V. has been inviting artists who specialize in rural areas and realize participation-oriented art and cultural projects as part of an artist residency. AIM e.V. will provide a 60 m² studio apartment for the duration of the project. The Burgbrohl art pavilion as well as community centers and event halls of the local municipalities can be used for workshops, events and final presentations. As a partner of the KulTOURnetz in the Ahrweiler district, AIM e.V. is part of the program “Aller.Land – zusammen gestalten. Strengthening structures.”
Object of the call
AIM e.V. awards project funding for a participation-oriented artistic project that is anchored in rural areas and actively works with local communities in the Ahrweiler district.
Conditions of participation
The call is aimed exclusively at professional artists. The project period – including the research and implementation phase – can be up to one year. The projects must be carried out within the project period March 2026 to 31.12.2027.
AIM e.V. expects high-impact impulses and the active involvement of regional communities. Local presence is required for the implementation of the project.
Selection criteria
Artistic projects will be selected if they
- pursue a clear participation-oriented approach,
- include the rural environment,
- actively seek dialog with various local communities and
- integrate them into artistic exchange and creative processes.
The selection is made by an independent jury of experts from the fields of art, culture and cultural administration.
