The team from Halle-based Dornrosa e.V. is accompanying the study on women artists from the GDR with the podcast “Kunst Ost Frau”, which can also be heard as a radio program on Radio CORAX in Halle. The main motto of Kunst Ost Frau is “Making visible”, because that’s what it’s all about: Art that has previously been exhibited and shown little or not at all should be noticed and seen. To make this possible, Jutta Jahn and Katja Reindel will start by mapping which female artists have lived and worked in the area that is now Saxony-Anhalt. They look at female artists who completed their art studies by 1985, i.e. who lived as artists in the GDR for several years.
