The Ennepe-Ruhr district is now organizing the Ennepe-Ruhr Art Prize competition for the eighth time. The art prize is awarded every two years and aims to promote regional artists. The competition is announced on a thematic basis. The theme for the 2025 art prize is “Light and Shadow”.
This year, the theme of the competition is very broad and open to interpretation. It is thus open to possible content-related and philosophical approaches as well as color and material experiments. The aim is to make the complexity of the levels of meaning of “light and shadow” tangible through artistic development and works. Are you interested? Participation is open to qualified artists from all fields. The qualification can be proven by academic training and/or exhibitions or engagements in a professional context.

Further requirements: The minimum age is 21 and applicants for the art prize must have a personal connection to the Ennepe-Ruhr district. This means that they were born here, have their main residence here or have spent a longer period of their life in the district.
