At the turn of the year 2025/26, the BBK Saxony-Anhalt conducted a transparency survey among its members for the fifth time. It enabled members to comment on the activities of their professional association and declare their willingness to get involved and provide professional support. The background to the survey is needs that are brought to the BBK from outside or that arise from its own initiatives and projects. The associated hope of using the survey to spread the distribution of tasks and commissions across more shoulders – on a fairer, more transparent basis – has once again become a reality. Thanks to the participation of 38 artists who contributed a wide range of ideas and wanted to get involved themselves, we feel a new positive energy that brings a breath of fresh air and new perspectives to our own work. We would like to thank all participants for their input!
The results in detail:
- 14 members are willing to volunteer on our admissions committee, as well as 5 members on our placement committee.
- 12 members can imagine participating in the Board of Directors – we are particularly pleased about this in times when voluntary commitment tends to dwindle!
- We were able to register new potential BBK delegates for the Dessau-Roßlau Design Advisory Board, as well as for the BBK Federal Association’s art-in-architecture pool.
- 18 members would like to participate in general art juries.
- 21 members are willing to take part in our working groups or ensure that they are reactivated – that’s great too!
- In future, we will be able to choose from a pool of 31 members with good references to provide services ranging from photography commissions, graphic design and curatorial activities to mediation tasks etc.
- All participants in the survey would like to fill their artist page on the BBK homepage in the near future – which also makes us very happy!
- Over 30 workshop requests were submitted. Even if we can probably only fulfill a few of them this year, we know what we have to work towards!
- There is also a great desire for networking among colleagues, whether as a regulars’ table or – as expressed by most – as a series of studio discussions. Many would also like to work on joint exhibition formats.
In spring 2026, the office will contact members who wish to create their artist page on the website and who have agreed to reactivate working groups or develop and implement networking formats. All others will be contacted as required when corresponding committee meetings or awards are due.
