We are delighted to announce, for the second time, a residency fellowship in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Media Hamburg @bkm_hh, explicitly aimed at artists and writers who are parents.
Six two-week working residencies are being offered at the M.1 of the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung in Hohenlockstedt for writers, literary translators or comic artists, as well as visual artists and curators with children. Three of the six grants will be awarded in the field of literature and three in the field of visual arts. Childcare will be available for two of the six residencies.
The call is open exclusively to artists and authors residing in Hamburg (within fare zones ABCD of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund).
Periods of Residence
– 6 – 19 July 2026 (Monday to Sunday) for two residents without accompanying children
– 21 July – 3 August 2026 (Tuesday to Saturday) for two residents with up to six children in total
– 20 August – 2 September 2026 (Thursday to Wednesday) for two residents without accompanying children
Applicants may indicate a preferred period as a non-binding request in their application.
The grant includes an expense allowance of €1,700, rent-free accommodation in a guest flat at the M.1 in Hohenlockstedt (including utilities and cleaning), childcare on site, and a travel allowance for arrival and departure. The residencies are explicitly intended for parents.
