From publishing house to self-publishing. From independent to established. From institution to company. From artists to those involved in photographic theory, media and visual studies. From exhibition catalogs to artist’s books, from conceptual illustrated books to student theses and photo-theoretical treatises. To reflect this diverse, ever-changing photography and photobook landscape, gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded by an independent jury in twelve categories.
Anyone who lives or works in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, works for an institution or manages a company is eligible to take part. In individual cases, entries from South Tyrol and the Benelux countries are also eligible, depending on the book project.
