Sofia Mayer is a visual artist specializing in sculpture. During her research stay as a guest of the artist Catiuscia Dotto in Brazil, she showed her work in an exhibition at the Almuniar Casa di Arte in Cristal.
Vessels presents excerpts from an experimental sand casting series. By working the negative sand mold, objects are created that reflect the vitality, fragility and strength of the body. The fragmentary, essential forms move between found object and imprint, revealing bulges, layers and breakthroughs.
