Strabag Award 2026

The STRABAG ART Award has been presented in Austria since 1994 and since 2009 as an international art promotion prize for artists up to the age of 40 in the fields of painting and drawing, whereby these terms have been expanded to reflect the times.

Artists from Germany, Slovenia and Austria are eligible to participate. Applicants must be citizens of the respective country or have been resident in one of the three participating countries for at least two years. In addition, citizens of Ukraine who currently reside in one of the participating countries are eligible to participate, regardless of the duration of their stay. The STRABAG ART Award 2026 is aimed at applicants born in 1986 or later. Periods of childhood can be counted towards the age limit. Applicants must either have demonstrably completed an academic artistic education (art academy, art college, university) or have comparable professional experience in the gallery and/or museum environment. All participants recognize the decision of the jury. Legal recourse is excluded.

The participants are authors within the meaning of copyright law. The submitted works remain the property of the applicants even if they are awarded the STRABAG ART Award. The applicants agree that their works submitted for the STRABAG ART Award as well as supplementary materials may be presented, reproduced and duplicated in print and online media without restriction and free of charge within the scope of STRABAG ART’s activities. The submitted works may not have already been awarded a public prize and must be the property of the artists. In the case of a STRABAG ART Award, STRABAG ART receives a purchase right to the submitted artworks. The purchase price is deemed to be the insurance value stated at the time of submission.

Applicants are responsible for the accuracy of their information. STRABAG ART may refrain from awarding the prize if false information is provided.
