The KUNSTHOF DAHRENSTEDT is a regional cultural center in the Altmark region. For the period from 01. An apartment at the Kunsthof Dahrenstedt and the 80 m² studio for living and working are available for one scholarship holder
in the visual arts and one in music/composition until 31.07. 2026. The city of Stendal, the association Stadtwandel e.V., the Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Sachsen-Anhalt e. V. as well as other private supporters together with the Kunsthof Dahrenstedt are taking over the organization and the costs for the accommodation. The State Chancellery and the Ministry of Culture of Saxony-Anhalt are supporting the one-month residency at Kunsthof Dahrenstedt with a grant of 1,500 euros. The scholarship holder will not incur any additional costs. With this grant, the State Chancellery and Ministry of Culture intends to support the development of artists who wish to work on a project outside their usual environment. The call is aimed primarily at
younger artists in the fields of visual arts and music/composition who have already achieved public recognition with their work and are still open in their artistic development. Applications from students are excluded. Please note: Applications from artists from Saxony-Anhalt are expressly encouraged, but not a prerequisite.
Support for other artists is possible if their outstanding artistic work is of particular interest to the state or if a connection to Saxony-Anhalt can be established. Interested applicants should submit the following documents exclusively in digital form as a ZIP file:
1) Letter of application
2) CV
3) Description of the project
4) Details of scholarship applications to other bodies (relating to the time period and
project)
5) Meaningful samples of artistic work depending on the areas:
- Visual arts: 10 – 12 illustrations, max. 3 video works (max.
10 minutes each) - Music/composition: at least two previously performed compositions from
various genres in the form of the complete score together with enclosed sound
