The international art festival sommer.frische.kunst is offering a three-week Artist in Residence program in Bad Gastein for the period 11 June – 05 July 2026 and invites artists from Austria and abroad to apply.
At the heart of the residency is an artistic and research-based exploration of the topic of water – understood as a physical, cultural, political and aesthetic phenomenon. The starting point is the specific conditions of the location: the waterfalls as an element shaping the landscape, the historic thermal and healing springs as well as Bad Gastein’s complex relationship to hydrotherapy, energy production, tourism and natural space.
