It centers on the symbolic theme of the Kaiju – a creature that represents both divine nature and destructive power in Japanese culture.

In this issue, we invite artists to interpret the theme of “development” through the symbolic lens of the MONSTER. Once a metaphor for overwhelming natural disasters and fear, the monster has changed – today it embodies inner turmoil, ecological instability, social anxiety or even hope and rebirth. Contemporary art reflects not only our times, but also our inner and personal landscapes. The MONSTER is not only a threat, but also a mirror. It can be personal or political, invisible or overwhelming. We invite you to define your own MONSTER and express its evolution.
Application deadline: September 30, 2025
