MonoPrint – monotype – a single image that lives only once, like a precious one-off that will never return. It is a play with colors and shapes in which creativity is allowed to flow freely. Paint is applied to a smooth surface, blurred, shaped and sometimes even removed. Then paper is placed on top, gently pressed down, and a unique print is created – a work of art that only exists once. Every print is a surprise, no two results are the same. It is a combination of painting and printmaking, where it is not the form but the way the ink is applied that makes the magic. What counts here is experimentation, spontaneous action, letting go and being amazed at the result. This technique is perfect for anyone who likes to try new things, enjoys creating and looks forward to unplanned, surprising pictures. Drawing skills are not necessary, just courage, curiosity and a desire for creative discoveries. Monotype is easy to do, easy to learn and great fun. Once you have tried it, you will love the magic of this unique printing process and create new, fascinating pictures again and again.
