The application phase for ZukunftsGut 2026 has begun: From now until March 20, 2026, cultural institutions can apply for the prize for institutional cultural mediation in Germany, which is endowed with a total of 80,000 euros.
All public and private non-profit cultural institutions in Germany that deal with the contemporary communication of artistic and cultural heritage and its present are invited to participate. This includes the fields of fine arts, music, literature, theater and cultural history. Particularly invited are museums, theaters, concert halls, opera houses and literary institutions that consistently align their programs in a participatory manner, integrate new target groups and communities and further develop their institutions as open places of exchange and community.
Three prizes will be awarded in each of the urban and rural/small town categories. The first prize is endowed with 25,000 euros, the second with 10,000 euros and the third with 5,000 euros.
ZukunftsGut is awarded every two years by the Commerzbank Foundation.
