Artica Svalbard – Office for Contemporary Art Norway

Artica Svalbard is one of Norway’s leading nonprofit residency foundations, based in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. The residency offers a unique environment for artistic research and creative expression and encourages artists to challenge existing perceptions of the Arctic while engaging with new insights and ways of thinking. Visual and performing artists with an interest in the polar regions and/or global perspectives, dialogues, and themes emerging from the High North are invited to apply. Selected fellows will receive funding to cover travel, housing, and a living allowance. Artists will be provided with a workspace and access to Artica Svalbard’s resources to develop and refine their projects while engaging with Svalbard’s unique environment. Fellows are encouraged to present their work through an artist talk, presentation, debate, lecture, or workshop, thereby contributing to cultural exchange and dialogue with the local community in Longyearbyen.
