Preliminary application procedure for the non-open art-in-architecture competition
The city of Langenhagen writes above. Art-in-Building competition and invites professional artists to apply to take part in the competition with their relevant portfolio. The art-in-architecture competition will be held as a non-open competition with a preliminary application procedure based on RPW 2013 and the Federal Government’s Guidelines for Art in Architecture (2012). The competition language is German. The awarding authority is advised in the selection of the competition participants by a selection committee that is different from the members of the jury in the non-open competition. The building is currently under construction. The construction site can be visited by the competition participants as part of the consultation colloquium.
Services for the following non-open art-in-architecture competition
For the complete and timely submission of a competition entry, the 5 invited artists in the non-open art-in-architecture competition will receive a processing fee of € 2,500 gross. When the contract is awarded, the processing fee for the competition is included in the realization fee if the further processing of the competition design is based on essential parts of the competition design unchanged.
A total gross budget of €140,000 including VAT for all fees, material and production costs as well as ancillary costs is available for the realization of the Kunst am Bau project. In future, the artwork must require only minimal maintenance/care and low operating costs during operation. The follow-up costs must be clearly presented in the cost summary. They are not part of the realization budget.
The jury is made up of 3 specialist judges with the same professional qualifications as the participants or art experts and 2 expert judges. The members of the jury are not the same persons as the members of the selection committee that advised the awarding authority on the selection of artists.
Competitive performance in non-open competition:
Presentation of the overall concept in floor plan and in views, sections and perspectives deemed necessary on a scale of your choice, presentation of the design details and technical information required for implementation with dimensions and material specifications as well as an explanatory report, estimation of subsequent expenditure, cost offer, author’s declaration and list of documents submitted. The submission of a model or working model as well as material samples is optional. The awarding authority will publicly exhibit all competition entries from the restricted competition following the jury meeting. Time and place will be announced in good time.
