The municipality and joint municipality of Meinersen have set themselves the goal of promoting young contemporary art and at the same time providing current impetus to the range of cultural offerings in the region.
In order to promote this goal, they are offering a scholarship with a residency at the Künstlerhaus Meinersen.
The scholarship is designed for a maximum of twelve months . The scholarship period begins by arrangement on 1 October 2026.
The organization and implementation of the scholarship has been entrusted to the Künstlerhaus Meinersen e.V. association.
This year’s scholarship theme is painting, which continues to assert its place within the diversity of media in contemporary art. All forms of expression that deal with the phenomenon of painting, its tradition and its topicality are welcome. There are no limits to the interpretation of painting in terms of form and content.
The scholarship includes a stay in the Meinersen artists’ house (living and studio space) free of rent and ancillary costs as well as monthly support of €800.
It is a presence scholarship; the scholarship holder has to live and work mainly in the Künstlerhaus for the duration of the scholarship.
The works created during this time are to be made accessible to the public in consultation with the board of the Künstlerhaus Meinersen, usually during a final exhibition.
